Personal Description:

My name is Sophia and I have been playing piano for 20 years. I trained in classical grades and then studied a degree in Popular Music Performance.

I have written a piece for an Escape Room game basednon Houdini's tricks. I have also played piano for an inclusive theatre, as well as being involved in other small, amateur theatre productions. I have been able to compose many songs through these projects and work with a variety of different musicians.

Tutoring Experience:

I teach beginners and intermediate piano from my home. I have 2 cats, Pumpkin and Pecan, who also like to give their input.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe learning music should be an enjoyable experience. It's an exciting and therapeutic skill to leanr that can turn into a job or a rewarding hobby.

I believe the foundations of piano are the most important and so I ensure my students have a thorough understanding of this to enable them to grow in the wau they wish to.

I take into account a student's learning style in lessons. Adapting lessons to fit with the students needs means that they are able to understand music and the process of learning runs a lot more smoothly.

I am happy to teach people to take grades and also to play for fun!

I bring my experience of different music styles to help give a well rounded foundation to my students.
