SAXOPHONE, COMPOSITION and MUSIC THEORY
I am an experienced saxophone player and composer, who is finishing her masters (MMus) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland this year. I am able to teach the saxophone (any), music theory, composition and free improvisation. My main instrument is the tenor saxophone, but I also play the soprano and alto saxophone. I am originally from Belgium, but have been living in Scotland for 6 years now and have taught a variety of pupils of different ages. I am also an experienced performer and have played genres like rock, ska, pop, classical and jazz.
I have had part time teaching experience (online and in person) since 2015. During those years I had to take some breaks, as I had to concentrate on higher education, but am now looking to build up a new set of pupils to teach and play music with. Currently I am only doing online lessons over zoom (hope that's ok).
I orientate my approach to teaching towards the student's needs. This means that I can design the lessons based on what a certain pupil may want to learn.
I also value efficient practicing. This means that I will not only teach how to play the saxophone, compose or music theory, but also how to practice the medium. By doing so, you will be able to progress greatly in your skills with a shorter, but more focussed practice.
If you just want to play saxophone or learn about music once a week without practice that's fine too! I am always able to negotiate lesson plans and fees with pupils.
