Information About Skye - Edinburgh teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Skye:
I'm Skye, an undergraduate student at the University of Edinburgh, originally from Northumberland! I've been playing piano and studying music since the age of 8 (I'm 18 now) and I'd love to help others improve their skills, just for fun or to progress through grades etc. I have ABRSM qualifications including Grade 5 Music Theory, Grade 6 clarinet, and Grade 6 piano.
I may be new to tutoring, but after being tutored for 10 years myself, I know the value of having someone to guide you through the process of learning a musical instrument or musical theory; it can be pretty daunting going it alone. My own tutor gave me the skills I needed both to play to the best of my ability and to pass exams, so I can hopefully pass on that knowledge to any tutees who wish to receive it! I have had experience working with young people, mainly beginners, in school bands and music workshops where I would work alongside the teacher to help students in small groups.
My approach to tuition is friendly, relaxed and centred on what/how the tutee wants to learn. I am happy to teach to an ABRSM standard if the tutee wishes to be entered for music exams, or just to teach in general with the intention of giving a comprehensive introduction to the world of music.
Beginners under the age of 18 are particularly welcome!
