I Graduated in modern viola and in modern violin. I also obtained the “Diploma Accademico in Discipline Musicali” (MMus) in viola and chamber music with Olga Arzilli at Conservatorio “B. Maderna”, in Cesena (Italy).
I followed several masterclasses with Danilo Rossi, Jody Levitz, Simonide Braconi, Fabrizio Merlini. A long experience as a member of a viola-and-piano culminated in the achievement of a three-year Chamber Music Diploma at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale in Imola (ITA), with the Altenberg Trio and Pier Narciso Masi.
From 2007 my main interest is in the Historical Performance Practice field. After some private lessons with Stefano Marcocchi (Principal Viola in Europa Galante), I entered the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam in Lucy Van Dael's class and obtained the Diploma in Early Music and Historical Performance Practice (Bmus). In the meantime I followed several masterclasses with Stefano Montanari, Enrico Onofri, Elisa Citterio, Sigiswald Kuijken and Lidewij van der Voort.
After taking part in the summer orchestral project in 2009, I have been selected to play with Jeune Orchestre Atlantique in the Formation Supérieure Course where he studied classical and romantic music on original instruments under important conductors like Hervè Niquet, Andreas Spering, Alessandro Moccia, Mark Minkowsky and Christophe Rousset, also receiving viola lessons from Emilio Moreno and Paul De Clerck.
In 2010 I performed with Holland Baroque Society at Utrecht's Early Music Festival (NL), and in the same year I was selected to play in Aldeburgh (UK) with the Britten Pears Baroque Orchestra in Handel's oratorium Saul, conducted by Richard Egarr.
In 2010 I was selected to become member of Academia Montis Regalis Youth Orchestra as Principal Viola, and afterward took part in several main orchestra projects in Canada, Austria and Italy. I regularly perform with several important groups such as Europa Galante, Accademia degli Astrusi, Modo Antiquo, l'Arte dell'Arco and others.
In 2010 I founded the Quartetto Eleusi, a string quartet specialized in 18th century italian repertoire. With them premiered and recorded for Brilliant Classics label Pietro Nardini's Six String Quartets (4 stars on Classica, April 2013), performing at the Music Festival in Saintes (FRA) in 2012 for the “Spotlight on Young Artists” concert series.
As Artistic Director of the Ensemble Symposium, I organized the first complete recording on original instruments of G. P. Telemann's Scherzi Melodichi, receiving several positive reviews.
As editor, I published several editions of string quartet music.
In 2017 I completed a PhD in Performance at Cardiff University (UK), investigating Italian chamber music in the UK at the end of 18th century.
- Scuola Musicale di Castelbolognese, 2007 (Violin)
- Istituto Tecnico per Geometri, Lugo, 2008 (Technical subjects)
- Classical Education Forum, Cardiff, 2014 (History of Opera, Intermediate Italian, 18th Century Music)
I am an enthusiastic and professional tutor, willing to help my students in their approach to the subject with a proactive attitude.
I particularly welcome adult students.
I prefer to teach at my place, parents are mostly welcome to attend during their kids lessons (tea and good Italian coffee are on me!).
