Personal Description:

I am newly moved to Bournemouth from London, with fifteen years experience teaching all levels, children and adults, from beginners up to diploma and beyond, on both flute and piano. A friendly and enthusiastic teacher, adaptable and flexible to the needs of each student. Among previous pupils, many have gone on to study at undergradua**Contact Detail Removed**vel, including students at GSMD and the Royal College of Music, and many have achieved high profile competition successes. I am an accomplished and experienced performer on both instruments. I am a hugely experienced piano accompanist for exams, diplomas, competitions and recitals, with experience of a vast range of repertoire. I have collaborated in recitals with many leading UK artists, but am equally experienced in accompanying people of all ages and abilities.

Tutoring Experience:

I have fifteen years experience teaching flute and piano both privately and in secondary schools, and since 2009 have taught Classical Improvisation at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Tutoring Approach:

My ethos as a teacher is to understand each student as an individual, giving each the opportunity to grow and explore their potential, and to develop a love of music that can stay with them for the rest of their lives. I am keen to encourage students to explore music that excites them, as well as to broaden their horizons, and actively encourage all to explore as much music as possible. For those students who wish to take exams I am always happy to support this, and have entered large numbers of students over the years, equally spread across all grades from 1 through to diplomas, with a 100% pass rate. I am always keen to encourage those who are keen to perform in concerts or competitions, but equally happy to work with those who wish to keep their music making for their own pleasure.
