Personal Description:
I am an experienced freelance professional musician. My first instrument is the Viola. I work with many orchestras in London including the London Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestra and many more. I've been working professionally for 20 years.

I currently teach at Dorset House School in Bury,
Portsmouth University and I also teach privately.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to music tuition and education is to encourage and discipline the students understanding of all aspects of music making and to improve their understanding of playing, along with the theory of music and general musicianship skills.

SarahFrom Sarah (5/5): I'm an adult pianist who's struggled over the years finding the time to practise and ending up trying to teach myself, not with the best results. Sarah is very good and has already improved my playing and given me all sorts of helpful advice which I think will make a real difference as I progress. She's also realistic about how much time I can devote to practising, and doesn't make me feel guilty if I've been too busy to improve much during the week. I would highly recommend her.

From Philip (/5): Sarah made me completely at ease learning to play Piano. I couldn't recommend Sarah more highly for anyone looking to learn and develop their Piano playing ability from complete beginner to advanced. Thank you Sarah.
From Tony (/5): I have only had two lessons with Sarah, so far, but first impressions are very favourable. She has the ability to spot the flaws in my technique and explain to me how I should go about correcting them. Some musicians are excellent players, but indifferent teachers. Sarah appears to be a very good teacher, as well as being a highly accomplished player.
