EXPERIENCE TEACHING SEN
Hello, my name's Sam.
I have five years of experience teaching music, to all ages, and in a variety of contexts.
I have taught ensembles, individuals, workshops and classes, teaching across styles and genres.
I can teach from any exam board if you want to follow grades. If you have other goals in mind I can devise a scheme of work that will snugly fit your wants and needs.
Don't hesitate to get in touch. I hope that you will.
5 years teaching Saxophone
5 years coaching youth rock/ pop bands
3 years working as a Learning Assistant for SEN students
Taught maths (GCSE for SEN) whilst taking PGCE
Most recently I am back from a year abroad, mostly spent teaching for NGOs in Palestine and Lebanon.
I can teach whatever content you want. Tell me your aims and I'll put the steps in place.
I provide plenty of pointers on how to practice effectively. When teaching children especially I emphasise the good habits that are necessary to make practice worthwhile. Lessons usually take a fairly regular structure going from a warm- up, to technical exercises, and then repetoire. I tend to use a lot of analogies when explaining techniques.
