Personal Description:
I studied at Chetham's School of Music and hold Music degrees from the universities of Manchester, Cambridge and York. I teach violin, viola, cello, piano, organ, singing, guitar and drums across classical, pop and rock, jazz and folk styles.
I currently work at Guildhall School of Music and Drama
Note: I only teach on Thursdays.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over 10 years' teaching experience having taught extensively in the UK and India covering all
major examination boards. I have successfully guided students through music college auditions.
I hold the following qualifications:
LRSM: cello performance
dipLCM: piano performance
Grade 8: violin; viola; classical guitar; classical singing; pop and rock singing; electric guitar; electric bass; jazz piano
Grade 5: folk fiddle
Grade 1: sarangi; Hindustani vocals; Carnatic vocals
Tutoring Approach:
I adopt a holistic approach to music tuition and incorporate singing, theory, and improvisation into lessons whatever style/instrument the student is studying.
