Graduated from Hertford College, Oxford University in 2018 with a BA (Hons) in Music. As a performer I've had the opportunity to play with orchestras such as the National Youth Orchestra and Oxford University Orchestra and bands such as the National Youth Wind Ensemble and Sherborne Town Band. My research at university focused on the role of music in supporting children with autism and adults with dementia. I am currently working for the NHS as a business manager on the NHS graduate management training programme and completing my masters part-time at the university of Birmingham/
I have taught the trumpet, tuba, piano, and music theory for 4 years to a range of pupils in a private and school setting.
I have taught pupils who want to learn for a variety of reasons. I believe that music should be enjoyable and base my lessons around that. I am happy to teach for enjoyment and also to progress in through grades efficiently. My teaching is focused on the fact the music theory is the basis of any instrument you learn and that an understanding of music theory and analysis can progress alongside practical teaching very well. I am very happy to adapt my lessons to the pupils needs.
