Personal Description:
Robert (B.A. Honours Popular Music)
I've been working as a professional drummer, touring internationally and playing with various ensembles since 2010. I hold a 1st Class Honours BA in Popular Music from Leeds College of Music.
I have my Grade 5 Theory from Guildhall.
I am also an audio engineer and composer, having created scores, sound designs, editing, mixing and mastering audio books and podcasts for The British Museum, Imperial College and the Foundational Questions Institute among others.
I love teaching those with a passion for music, music theory and production.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 20 years teaching experience as a private drum teacher. I have taught students as young a 7 and as old as 82, at all levels of ability.
I also offer tutoring in Music Theory and Audio Production.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe learning should be a joy and a place for personal growth. It’s my job to engage with each student’s individual enthusiasm for the drums, music theory or audio production, and to encourage, challenge and nurture their interest. My goal is that students leave our lessons feeling enlivened and motivated to continue practicing and exploring their discipline until our next session.
