I have been playing the bass for over 10 years. I have studied bass and popular music for 6 years and have been working in the music industry as a session music and teacher for over 4 years now. I have worked with well established artist such as Jake Bugg, Little Hours, Georgie and Laura White to name a few playing at venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall and Reading and Leeds Festival to the smallest venues in the northern quarter. When I'm not working as a session musician I gig with one of the UK's most popular wedding and function bands The Kickstarts. As well as this I enjoy teaching my students and seeing them gain new skills, techniques and experiences from playing music.
I often teach and assess students in colleges and University and have given talks on rhythm and groove at school and college music workshops and masterclasses. I am most used to teaching bass lessons to small groups and one on one with my current students.
Everybody is different so I tailor my lessons to each individual student. My aim is to make every student feel comfortable in an environment where it is easy for them to learn. I like my students to come away with knowledge in a wide variety of styles and techniques so they have a wider range of knowledge of music as a whole.
