Rob studied at Trinity College of Music London. He gained his BMus (Hons) there in 2010 and has been teaching since. He studied the viola with Rivka Golani and Richard Crabtree. Rob has a great passion for musical education and performing. After completing his studies at Trinity he moved to Wales to study for a Post Graduate Diploma in performance with John Thorne and Alex Thorndike. While studying in Wales Rob successfully auditioned for a place on the prestigious BBC National Orchestra of Wales String Scheme, which led to rehearsing and performing with the orchestra. He also performed as part of a String Quartet and was Principal Viola of all the College ensembles.As part of the Salieri quartet he won The Gabb and Co. Chamber music prize and the quartet were selected to participate in the Cavatina Prize at the Royal Academy in London. Rob graduated from the Royal Welsh College in 2012 and is now working as a freelance musician and teacher.
Rob has taught privately for ten years. He teaches upper strings and piano at an independent school in Sussex and has a busy private teaching practice from his music studio at home.
Rob has a friendly and exciting approach to teaching. He teaches all ages from 5 years and up. Rob has prepared many of his pupils for both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall music exams. Rob is available to teach violin, viola and beginner piano.
