I am a classically trained professional musician who has sung in Operas in the UK and abroad. I also have extensive experience on the Cabaret circuit having performed in a variety of venues including Rugby Stadiums, Music Festivals, Oratorios, Corporate Events etc… I'm still a very active performer. Have also played guitar in a Rock Band so have experience/knowledge of many different styles of singing including Classical, Musical Theatre, Rock/Pop - the idea of singing lessons is to enable the tutee to make the most of their voice as an instrument, whatever type of voice that may be. Also very familiar with music technology - ProTools, Sibelius and other music software, PA systems, Microphones.
2 years private teaching (largely by request).

First get the tutee to sing something they want to perform - that gives me an indication of their vocal range, style and ability etc… Singing should be as natural as breathing, so if it works naturally don't fix it - however we all have bad habits or techique that get in the way of the voice. I see singing as a journey - one person is not better than another, merely further down the road of their journey.
