Personal Description:

I teach from home in my music room. I can teach acoustic or electric most styles. I started to learn to play the guitar when I was about 14 … I am now 59!! I have played in rock bands, theatre bands pub duos, trios and celidh bands. I still go out doing gigs. I am friendly, patient and always do my best to get my students reach their musical goals. I can also play other instruments : fiddle, mandolin and banjo. I am a fan of Celtic music.
I love to teach guitar making time for music reading and understanding the musical theory which relates to the guitar . This builds solid foundations for you.Many of my past students have gone on to successful performers for example Dan Owen .

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught guitar since approx 2001. I have experience of teaching in schools around Shropshire including primary and secondary.
I really enjoy teaching adults from home . I am a qualified guitar teacher with London College of Music.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very patient and fully understand how difficult it can feel to learn a new instrument at first. I like to include some sight reading and musical theory that relates to the guitar in our lesson. But above all I want my students to enjoy their lesson.
After all the guitar is the best musical instrument ever!!
