This is how 3 referees rated Rebecca:
I am a fully qualified secondary school music teacher and currently work at a successful school in the North East as a Teacher of Music with teaching and learning responsibility. I am 29 years old and have received musical tuition on piano, guitar, trumpet and vocals since the age 8. In that time I have successfully passed graded examinations, including ABRSM grade 8 piano and theory examinations. In 2010 I graduated from The University of Sheffield gaining a Bachelor of Music (Hons) and, after gaining QTS, have worked at my current school ever since. In 2015 I completed an NPQML course in middle leadership.
In my current role I teach secondary level and A Level music to students aged 11-18. I have taught piano on a one to one basis for approximately 12 years and have experience of teaching students from as young as 6 years of age, through to teenagers and through to adults aged 60!
My approach to music tuition really evolves around what the student wants to achieve, whether this be formal graded examinations (ABRSM), more pop/rock graded examinations (e.g. Rockschool), learning just for fun or learning a new skill! I am an approachable teacher and I communicate very well with my students. I do encourage students to try out different genres of music including classical, music from the stage/screen, jazz and pop and like to ensure a sense of enjoyment and enthusiasm for their playing and practicing!
Lessons are normally half an hour at £15.00 but some may prefer 45 mins or an hour.
