RGT
I am only registered RGT TUTOR in Carluke and Lanark.

By working through the RGT handbooks you can sit exams and acheive the appropriate grade or just simply work through the book to increase your knowledge.

Benefits of Taking an RGT Exam
Gain a useful and internationally recognised qualification.
Find out, via a reliable and independent assessment, what standard your playing is.
Achieve your playing potential by setting yourself a clear target to aspire to.
Preparing for the exam will help you develop all aspects of your playing in a structured way, increase your knowledge of guitar techniques and music theory.

Influenced by my family and friends, I decided to start singing my own songs at open mic nights throughout Scotland. People commented that I had a good strong voice with catchy melodic songs which encouraged me to take my music further.

I have played several venues through out the world such as Central Park New York, Peurto De La C, Tenerife and London. Closer to home in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and the Highlands.

Edinburgh venues include The Golden Rule & Bannermans.

I’ve also played at the following festivals :-Pitlochry festival, B in Bellhaven and Tarbert festival. I’m looking forward to my forthcoming acoustic album called "LIFE'S CONTRADICTION" Due to be released in the summer of 2012. I will be performing a half hour set with songs from this album in April and May around central Scotland .

In 2013 I will be playing a solo acoustic gig in St Petersburg, Russia

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 10 years teaching experience and I taught at Nomadbeat Music School in Peebles for 3 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to guitar lessons is relaxed and informal. Lesson topics are normally related to your own personal areas of interest. I feel that this is the best way to learn any instrument as it is much more enjoyable for the student. When you're having fun, practicing isn't hard work. Learning to play guitar and understanding music go hand in hand, which is often overlooked by amateur guitar teachers. I will be able to explain to you not just how to play the guitar, but how music works.

To coincide with lessons, I will also keep a record of your progress so that together we can work towards improving your playing and not using lesson time for just practice. Check out what my students have to say about me on the testimonials page.
