Information About Ramon - Hampstead teacher
I started drumming lessons at the age of 12 and have continued to improve and expand my techniques by studying with leading professional drumming figures such as Jojo Mayer, Thomas Lang, Steve Smith and Mike Dolbear to name a few.
I have drummed with a wide variety of bands, covering many styles of music from jazz, Latin to rock and R&B and have performed with various acts around the world and at major festivals. I also play guitar and compose music of various genres.
Drum Captain for the London Olympics Opening Ceremonies 2012.
One of a handful of drum captains responsible for selecting and training one thousand drummers for the London opening ceremonies. Due to the large number of volunteers, I would have to devise and implement clear and simple methods in which to teach the rhythms, song structures and choreography to the drummers, most of which were beginners.
In School Percussion workshops.
I led Djembe, Samba and junk percussion workshops in a handful of London Schools tailoring the workshops to suit the needs of the classes including SEN Schools.
I have been teaching drum kit privately for over eight years now and really enjoy the dynamics of teaching and tailoring lessons to the individual needs of the student.
I am a skilled, experienced and highly enthusiastic drum kit and percussion teacher.
I teach all ages and levels. I focus on technique, groove playing, timekeeping and chart reading. I explore a variety of genres, i.e… Afro Cuban, Big Band, jazz, funk, hip hop and D&B, in order to expand their musical palette.
Many students are enrolled for the Trinity Guildhall and Rock School Grade examinations. My students have 100% success rate in these exams.
