This is how 2 referees rated Rachel:
I have recently graduated with a MA in Music Performance from RWCMD and am currently embarking on a freelance performance career. I have been a member of various ensembles such as Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Cymru, and have also played with WNO both as part of a student placement scheme and in the Youth Opera.
While I mainly focus on 'classical' and orchestral playing, I also play Jazz in my spare time and have accompanied various school musical productions in Cardiff over the past few years.
I currently teach music in Primary Schools in the South Wales area, as well as double bass both as a peripatetic teacher in schools and privately.
I have many years teaching experience with success in ABRSM examinations.
I believe lessons should be enjoyable, as I feel that music should always be fun no matter what level you're playing at! I love playing Double Bass and would like nothing better than to help others to play and to share my enthusiasm. I think it's important that pupils have a say in what they'd like to learn so try to structure lessons to fit both mine and the pupil's targets.
