Information About Philippa - Oxford teacher - (6 reviews)
This is how 6 referees rated Philippa:
I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who nurtures confidence in my pupils. By setting music tailored to suit individual goals, I encourage pupils to find enjoyment in their playing and foster musical continuity and improvement. I currently teach at Radley College and the Dragon School as well as a wide range of private pupils. I am a Music graduate of the University of Manchester, after which I went on to do post-graduate training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Before moving to Oxford, I taught for Surrey Arts and was a teacher at SWS Music School in Earlsfield. It’s never too late to start learning to play an instrument - I have experience teaching pupils aged from 5 years old to 70!
I aim to generate a passion for playing in my pupils by finding music to suit them and their particular goals, to motivate them to continue and improve. For younger pupils, learning is approached in a fun and engaging way with a variety of musical exercises and activities included in lessons. I am more than happy to prepare pupils for ABRSM exams and see these as useful targets for those who are interested in taking them. As a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and the European String Teachers Association, I am committed to continually enhancing my pedagogy through new techniques and skills.
