Information About Phil - Okehampton teacher
Phil is married, living in Okehampton, has played guitar for twenty years and has been running his own tuition business full time for the last five years.
Successfully teaching for 5 years from Manchester to North Tawton and now Okehampton, both in the classroom and private tutoring.
Students have ranged from age 6 to 60 learning electric and acoustic styles of Rock, Blues, Classical, Funk, Metal and Folk.
Phils' approach is completely non-intensive yet still very technique driven. Playing and learning guitar is a lot easier when you're comfortable so keeping the atmosphere relaxed and friendly is priority number one. All lessons are tailored to suit the individual, whether you want to learn a few chords for armchair strumming, stage shaking riffs, or if you already play and just need pointing in the right direction, your every guitar need will be catered for.
Learning any instrument is hard and you certainly have to put in to get out with guitar, but you really can become as good as you want to be. It's all down to you and how much you practice!
Phil is a strong believer in self teaching and has told the same thing to every student: "You will learn far more on your own than you ever will with me". Students will learn so much in their own time just from experimenting with simple techniques and patterns, then developing them into bigger and better things. Once you know the technique you can do whatever you want with it! This is what Phil does, gives you the tools to learn on your own.
So whether you need lessons twice a week or once every six months, Phil is here and happy to accommodate you. And as always, first lesson is half price!
