Tutoring Experience:
I am a tutor in Jazz Performance, Composition, Theory and Ear Training at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and also a tutor at University of Edinburgh since 2004. I have 25 years teaching experience both individually and in the classroom. My experience and skill extends to both one-to-one instrumental tuition online (via Zoom) and in person.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are informal, relaxed and can be flexible in focus and format once the student’s level and needs are apparent. I have a wide range of musical interests and stylistic flexibility and this is useful to inspire students to find their own expressive voice whilst also pursuing technical development. My main focus is to ensure that the student enjoys whilst learning.
