Information About Paul - York teacher - (4 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Paul:
I have been playing music full time for the past 9 years and done a lot of work as a melodeon player in various ceilidh bands. I also have experience of playing for traditional dance teams (morris and rapper) and as part of a big concert band at festivals. I play a mixed repertoire of mainly English, Irish, Scottish and French tunes, both traditional and modern.
I've been teaching professionally for several years now, to pupils with a wide variety of interests and ability levels, including pupils with specific interests in English, Irish and French music and have worked with pupils as young as 10 as well as with older beginners and pupils with previous experience of the instrument. I teach all push-pull systems - one row, two row in D/G, G/C, etc… Irish style B/C and C#/D and Anglo concertina.
Please note that I don't teach piano accordion.
Obviously the requirements of the pupil come first and your lessons will be made to suit you. When teaching beginners I like to get both hands working together pretty much immediately and have had good results with this method. Most people I've taught have been able to play their first simple tune with a left hand accompaniment by the end of the first lesson.
