Information About Paul - Maidenhead teacher
This is how 3 referees rated Paul:
Paul, aged twenty six, has been teaching the guitar and working as a session guitarist since he graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music, in 2008, where he achieved a BA Honours degree in Music Production.
Paul started playing the guitar ten years ago and has learnt to play guitar to an exceptional standard in many different playing styles. Two styles that Paul specialises in playing and teaching are the blues and finger picking style.
During Paul's education at the ACM, he was taught by industry professionals how to record and produce music, to a professional standard. Paul acquired many skill sets in the studio which he applies in his session guitar work. For his final dissertation he wrote a comprehensive study in chord harmony for the guitar, which was merited a first. Pauls' solid background in music theory is instrumental to his success in teaching and session guitar work.
Paul also has experience in live performance. He has played lead and rhythm guitar in several bands, performing in many styles such as: blues, rock, rock n roll, pop, reggae and country.
Paul has been teaching guitar privately for four years in most playing styles such as: Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, Soul, Jazz, Reggae, Rock n Roll, Folk and Finger-style. Paul teaches electric and acoustic guitar to all age groups in both contemporary and retro playing styles.
When teaching Paul focuses heavily on making lessons practical and fun. A student who is playing his or her favourite songs is far more likely to want to continue learning and developing new skills; this also builds their confidence and increases their passion for playing the guitar.
With a thorough understanding of music theory, Paul can teach you the theory behind what you are playing and he can show you how to apply that theory in your own playing.
Paul can help students to: play their favourite songs, play in particular style, master the entire fretboard, expand chord vocabulary, improve technique, apply scales and modes, apply arpeggios, improvise, transcribe songs, improve lead playing, improve rhythm playing, train your ears, understand music theory, and teach you many of the subtleties that will vastly improve your playing.
