I am a freelance drummer based in Farnborough, Hampshire. I am an experienced musician and teacher, having studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, gaining a BMus (Hons) Professional Music Performance Degree with First Class Honours.
I have around 15 years of playing experience, and studied at the ACM under tutors including Pete Riley (Republica, Guthrie Govan), Toby Drummond (Shaun Ryder, Cliff Richard) and Frank Tontoh (Craig David, Amy Winehouse). I have also studied privately with Mike Dolbear.
I gig regularly with function bands at weddings, parties and corporate events and play behind a variety of original artists. These include ‘Fiori’, ‘Ruby Duff’, and ‘Dean McCaw’, both live and in the studio, across a mixture of full band and acoustic ensembles, as well as being one third of the ‘Dean Parker Band’. I have also spent time with original artist Hannah Louise recording at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, recorded with the BBC at Maida Vale, and performed at BBC Introducing events with Calvin Goldspink (ex-S Club Juniors).
I am experienced across a wide range of musical situations and genres, with particular focus on working with songwriters.
I was a UK Young Drummer of the Year finalist in 2013 and subsequently appeared on BBC’s ‘The One Show’ in a feature with Roger Taylor.
I have Rockschool Grade 8 with Distinction and ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory, also with Distinction.
"Paul has been a pleasure to work with at the ACM. Paul has a fantastic/natural ability with the kit and is certainly a drummer to look out for in the future" - Toby Drummond

To cover costs and additional time, I will add an extra charge for travel. This is decided on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that I operate a 24 hour cancellation policy.
I have a mixture of teaching experience, including private tuition, teaching within a music shop, schools teaching and running an after school percussion club. I have experience of both teaching grades and teaching more broadly, across a range of ages from 5-80, from beginners to advanced players.
I am enthusiastic and passionate about music and about encouraging others to be excited about it too! I always aim for lessons to be both productive and enjoyable, and always look to build confidence in pupils. I will teach grades if desired, alongside a mixture of other relevant content to make for a well rounded musician.
