Personal Description:

Hi! UPDATE: online lessons strongly recommended!! (please see below)

Having graduated with a music degree from City, University of London where I received piano tuition from teachers from Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance , but also having studied the piano excessively before moving to Uk, with a teacher from ARTE, one of the top music academies of my native country Cyprus, I believe I have got the necessary knowledge to help my students progress very well pianistically, whilst developing a love and passion for the piano and music, which is my ultimate aim. I have attended piano workshops and masterclasses with pianists Ian Pace and Martin Roscoe, have also studied privately with pianist Graham Fitch, and am a keen reader about piano technique. I am also currently a part-time piano teacher at WKMT London.

Apart from my music and piano studies, I have also graduated from the University of Cambridge with a PGCE music, which has tremendoustly helped my teaching, as I now understand better the many challenges of teaching, such as being sensitive to each students’ particular needs. My students find our lessons enjoyable and fun, and their results in ABRSM exams are always very satisfying!

I give lessons either at my home or at students’ homes, online, or at local piano studios. There is a 50% discount for the first lesson.
I also teach music theory, can help with music GCSE/A LEVELS, and can teach some basic jazz piano.

***online lessons***: give the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, I now strongly recommend moving to remote teaching. All you need is a laptop, tablet or smartphone with an application such as skype, and a keyboard!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching piano for 4 years, and I have also taught music in schools for 1.5 years. Students satisfaction and results are always very satisfying.

Tutoring Approach:

I find it extremely satisfying to see my students progress both technically and musically, while developing a deeper interest and enjoyment for the art of piano playing and music in general. In the lessons I tend to introduce as much repertoire (piano pieces) as possible so that the student doesn't lose interest, while developing technically. I also tend to recommend for my students to take ABRSM exams (both piano and theory), so that they get more comfortable in playing in front of others, and always have a tangible goal to reach.
