Information About Oli - Cardiff teacher

Personal Description:

Oli has played to royalty such as Prince William and Kate, supported opera singer Katherine Jenkins and recently toured and recorded worldwide with platinum Vocal Group G4,Lesley Garrett, Merrill Osmond and The City of Prague Philharmonic. He has recorded with UK jazz stars such as Dennis Rollins and Tomorrows Warriors and released two albums under his own name.
Oli has also headlined on many of the world’s finest cruise ships and visited over 100 countries between 2015-2019, earning a reputation as one of the busiest and youngest headline acts in the industry playing, singing and telling the occasional dad joke! Oli’s first album “Open For Business” was produced by Grammy- nominated Julian Hepple and featured UK Jazz favourites such as virtuoso trombonist Dennis Rollins (Oli also played in his band), guitar great John Paricelli and BBC Radio 3 presenter and singer Emma Smith. Oli’s latest release is titled Whispers Of Wales and took almost two years to produce: from conception to CD press and was recorded in Utah USA.
Growing up in rural Wales Oli relocated to London at aged eighteen to study at London’s prestigious Trinity Music Conservatoire and play with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Oli has recently moved back to the motherland from London and settled in central Cardiff where he runs We Make The Sounds, his audio production company which composes for TV and film, He operates and teaches from his Central Cardiff studio and has on site parking available for students.

Tutoring Approach:

I remember when I was falling in love with music the teachers that always inspired me were the ones that made music fun, I aim to include fun and laughter in every lesson. I also never want my students to exclusively play music from three hundred years ago , one week we might play Mozart and the next Bruno Mars. The basics and fundamentals are of course essential but having fun is also!
