Personal Description:

Coming from a musical family, I began learning piano and violin/viola, winning youth competitions, continued studies at Brandon University, Canada, graduating with gold medal for highest grades overall as well as silver medals for highest grades in instrumental, theory and history categories. Further master studies, both privately as well as at master courses, with leading teachers such as Max Rostal, Sandor Vegh, Pierre Pasquier in Switzerland, Austria, France and Italy. Performed professionally with orchestras in Holland, Germany, Canada, Japan and Austria, touring through many countries. Founding member of chamber orchestras involving professionals giving young musicians valuable experience. I was also an adjudicator for youth competitions in Canada and gave master classes.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught as a private music teacher for many years, preparing students of all ages for exams, competitions and entrance exams. In Canada I taught at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music, as well as group lessons at the Winnipeg and St. Boniface School Divisions, Manitoba and the Brandon University Music Conservatory Division. More recently, I taught private music lessons at the Vienna Elementary School in Vienna, Austria. In preparation for exams, I have always organized recitals for the students.

Tutoring Approach:

Music is a vital aspect of learning, preparing children in an fun way to think logically and furthering fine motor skills. I feel music should be an enjoyable and valuable form of recreation, so I base my teaching very individually to the interests and abilities of each student. I encourage a good technical foundation, incorporating many different styles of music, so that the students become capable independent players. I am also very happy when adults and senior citizens wish to take up instruments, either as beginners or to refresh and further their skills, having taught both beginner **Contact Detail Removed** and individual lessons to persons even in their 90's! Children with some learning disabilities should be encouraged to take up instrumental lessons, since this will also help their development.
