Personal Description:
I am a brass tutor and predominantly flugelhorn/cornet player based in Greater Manchester. Currently the Brass tutor at a private music academy based in Altrincham (Aura Music Academy) as well as Forest and Hale Preparatory schools, Wellington Secondary and Stockport Music Service. As a player of 16 years, I have performed at many renowned concert halls such as The Royal Albert Hall - London, The Symphony Hall - Birmingham, Preston Guild Hall, The Sage - Gateshead, The Brindley - Runcorn. Also the flugelhorn player of the Fairey Brass Band in Stockport.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience teaching brass players of all ages and abilities, with my youngest student being 7 and my oldest in their 70's - it's never too late to start learning! As well as my 16 years playing experience, I have been teaching privately and as part of the music education systems for 4 years. I have completed various massed brass courses with music services as well as a mental health awareness brass day. My teaching pedagogy has developed from seeking years of guidance from the world's most highly regarded and respected brass players and musical directors from the Orchestral and Brass Band movement.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a young, friendly female tutor and my teaching method is based on giving a unique and tailored approach to each individual, based on their own goals and aspirations. This way, playing the instrument is always associated with pleasure and personal satisfaction as the student achieves their desired results. I come from a none playing or musical family and I have achieved what I have today through self motivation and love for brass playing. I started as an 8 year old writing down the note names of my favourite songs as I couldn't write actual sheet music and I just wan't to share the same passion and enjoyment with my students. I have lots of repertoire and play along tracks for every occasion that I share with all of my students, as well as having the ability to arrange music on request to tailor the lesson to your needs.
