I get a huge amount of enjoyment and satisfaction from playing guitar, and my goal as a tutor is to ensure you do too.
Having played professionaly for over twenty years I have gathered much technical and theoretical knowledge of music, alongside a wealth of great pieces and songs.
Check out the downloads below for samples of my teaching pieces.
I have taught privately for nearly twenty years. I gained my Certificate in Music Teaching to Adults (C.M.T.A). in 2004 before becoming a peripatetic instrumental teacher in primary and secondary schools.
Have fun and work hard to get the most out of your lessons.
My own playing technique and repertoire tends toward classical and fingerstyle jazz, but my familiarity with a broad range of music means I can help with most styles the learner might be interested in playing.
Whether you want to learn to read music from the stave with a view to taking guitar exams, or would simply like to learn enough chords to be able to strum and sing, I can help you achieve your goals.
With many years playing and teaching experience, I have the skills and understanding to be of use to both beginners and more advanced players.
Lessons can be half an hour in length, but I would recommend at least an hour for maximum progress.
