"Nara sang with Triora Musica in Triora, Italy, playing Sirena and Prima Damigella in Caccini's 'La liberazione di Ruggiero' in 2016, and returned to Triora with the company the next summer, playing Cupid in 'La Dafne' by Gagliano. Nara has also taken part in the Brighton Early Music Festival, earning the title of BREMF's "youngest ever soloist" playing Cupid in 'Gaia - Three Intermedi for a Living Planet' in 2016 and has sung in many projects through the years in the Brighton Fringe Festival with the Brighton Festival Youth Choir, whom she sang with for 5 years."
Roles also include Dido in Purcell's 'Dido and Aeneas" and Lieschen in Bach's 'Coffee Cantata'. Recordings include backing vocals on Joe McElderry's 'Classic Christmas' album, and singing with Musica Secreta and The Celestial Sirens on their award winning album 'Lucrezia Borgia's Daughter'.
At 23 years old, my level of experience in professional operatic and classical singing roles and jobs is high, but I am also an avid Musical Theatre and stage acting fan, performing in Her Majesty's Theatre in 'Little Shop of Horrors' in 2016, in the ensemble of 'Grease' and 'Our House - The Madness Musical', as well as in a concert performance of 'Guys and Dolls'. I have spent time Musically-Directing 'Guys and Dolls' and 'Little Shop of Horrors' on separate occasions to my performances, as well MD-ing and Stage Managing 'Matilda - Junior'.
Since graduating from Cambridge University (Homerton College) in 2020 with a PGCE in Secondary Music and QTS, I have worked as a secondary school Music teacher, teaching Year 7 through to Year 13. I received my 1st class Undergraduate Degree from the University of Chichester Conservatoire, specialising in Performance (Opera, Classical and Musical Theatre singing), teaching music at primary schools, running band workshops at secondary schools and teaching singing privately whilst studying and training. I have taught singing to students of all ages, including small children and people with SEND.
My approach to teaching is to make every session as fun and accessible as possible, with the students walking away feeling proud of their achievements and ready to learn more. I believe that music is one of the most universal forms of enjoyment, so I try to make sure that every single one of my students feels comfortable to stretch and challenge themselves but is able to laugh and smile throughout the lesson.
There are no rules to follow when booking lessons with me. If you are just starting out and want a safe space to enjoy learning music, that's great! If you want to prepare for a public performance or take an exam, that's fine too! Whatever your reason for needing tuition, send me a message and we will see what we can do to get you on your way to achieving your goals.
