Personal Description:
Professional trumpeter and teacher based in the Basingstoke area. I have enjoyed a rewarding varied musical career. Growing up in North West England I began life playing in brass bands eventually being a part of the cornet team of The Fairey Band.
After this I went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I was also fortunate enough to be able to spend a year at the Sibelius Academy in Finland on Erasmus exchange
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience working with all ages and levels from beginners upwards.
I’ve been part of many rewarding training experiences from touring primary schools in North West England all the way to training trumpeters from the Belize Defence Force Band.
Tutoring Approach:
I’m really passionate when it comes to trumpet, this helps with my teaching style as I can approach things from many angles.
I enjoy working with pupils to find the best approach and method for them as everyone is unique.
I have lots of experience working with the Balanced Embouchure Method (Jeff Smiley). It is amazing the results this can bring even to the most frustrated players.
