Personal Description:
Hi there my name is Mike and I have been involved with music all my life. I have always been a singer since I could talk and got into playing instruments at the age of 14. I first picked up the guitar then moved onto bass and then hit the drums. I studied at the BRIT school alongside classmates Adele and Charlene Soraia and honed my abilities for 2 years while I was there. I gradated with a BTEC Diploma in Music Practice. While at BRIT I got to visit under privileged schools and teach music to those whose schools couldn't actually afford to teach music. I'm able to play all styles of commercial music and have played in many bands as a member and session player.
Tutoring Experience:
I have beren teaching bass and drums on a freelance basis for 7 years. I am now able to teach music production and engineering as I have my own studio in **Removed By Admin** There I am able to cover Pro Tools and Logic Pro tuition. I have spare amps and instruments if you don't have your own. Although my instruments are full size so if your below 16 you may want to get a smaller sized instrument.
You can be confident that with me as a tutor you will get understanding, commitment to your craft and an easy going approach which my other students appreciate. However, I do expect dedication and a willingness to learn from ALL of my students.
Tutoring Approach:
In all aspects of my teaching I try to get my students to understand the fundamental building blocks of their chosen instruments… This could mean understanding the basics of music theory and scale as well as being able to play by ear. If there's a song you want to learn all you have to do is bring it into the lesson and I shall have a lesson and teach you it there and then. I will say though that it will not always be learning song after song as I believe that it's important to learn the theoretical aspects of the instrument you are learning also :)
The same goes for production tuition. I shall not only teach you how to create the sound in a mix that you know and love but I shall also show you how you get to that point step by step.
