Personal Description:

I have recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where I received a First Class Honours in the saxophone. In September, I started a Masters in Multi instrument woodwind performance. I have been playing professionally for 6 years and have played all over the country. My career in music has lead me to play in venues such as Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall (Birmingham), St. David's Hall, Arts Theatre (West End) and the Menin Gate (Belgium).

Tutoring Experience:

My performance and teaching experience (so far) enables me to teach a subject I love with enthusiasm and interest.

As a student at RWCMD, I have been lucky enough to take part in several music outreach modules, including workshop leadership. This gave me the opportunity to visit schools and run workshops for young children, who before, may not have had the chance to play a musical instrument.

I am also a member of the Coburn Saxophone Quartet. As a group, we have made several school visits and taken part in lots of outreach, most recently, playing for the opening of 'Dinosaur Babies' at the National Museum of Wales.

I find outreach extremely rewarding and it has taught me countless skills that can be transferred to my 1/1 teaching practise.

Tutoring Approach:

I can teach pupils of all ages, whether they want to work through exams or learn for enjoyment. I am friendly and approachable, but also clear and focused in my teaching. Whether you are learning for a hobby or aspire to one day play professionally, my flexible method of teaching means I can adapt lessons into a way that suits each student. I teach a variety of styles across instruments, including Classical, Jazz and Popular music.

I believe that learning a musical instrument should be a hobby not a chore, so as a teacher, I strive to make the experience as enjoyable as possible!
