Personal Description:

COVID-19 UPDATE:
My piano studio has now reopened for 1-to-1 lessons! Teacher and student each have their own piano which allows for 2m+ distance. The overhead cameras allow us to clearly see each other's hand technique and there is plenty of opportunity for fun piano duos!

I do require us to wear masks during the lessons and I'm still running online lessons for those who prefer.

I am an avid pianist and keyboard player who performs at function gigs and care homes and with other professional musicians.

I have experience playing a wide variety of music styles in live settings. I am classically trained with grade A A-level music and grade 8 ABRSM piano however my experience is very eclectic having performed and written in styles such as blues, jazz, funk, film music etc.

Tutoring Experience:

I teach adults as well as young children and teenagers. I have been teaching music for over three years with students who all have their own personalised lessons from learning the music to video games, to practicing for grades, to improvisation and composition.

I teach in schools 1-1, and have given music classes and workshops to primary school pupils.

Tutoring Approach:

Music is a very personal thing so I believe in teaching in a personalised way. I feel that is one the great benefits to having 1 to 1 lessons.

I have a core program which will take students through basic techniques and concepts in music, however throughout the course students will be given scope to choose their own music which I will then modify and adapt according to the student's playing ability.

Students are also given the option to train for ABRSM exams.

I may be able to travel depending on convenience and whether I am already in that area at the time. I also have some availability to teach at weekends.
