Personal Description:

***Skype lessons available during COVID-19 period***

Hello! I'm in my final bachelor year of studying clarinet performance at the Royal College of Music and have lots of teaching experience.

I enjoy playing solo, chamber and orchestral music and have appeared as guest principal clarinet with orchestras including London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. I enjoy playing a wide variety of music. As a soloist I won the 2018 Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists wind and brass category as well as the 2016 Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britatin's Young Clarinettist Competition. Solo recital venues have included St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James' Piccadilly and Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room.

Tutoring Experience:

I have wide-ranging experience in music education. I have taught privately at all levels, from people playing for fun to people preparing for graded exams / auditions.

I am a deputy teacher at Royal College of Music Junior Department

I have helped lead lead education workshops through various organisations:
-RPO Resound - leading clarinet ensemble workshop for NMPAT, 2020
-NYOGB Inspire - leading workshops for secondary school students, 2013-2016
-LSO Woodwind Academy animateur work - leading a composition workshop for primary school children, 2015
-In Harmony - helping beginner instrumentalists in an ensemble workshop, 2014
-'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' musical adaptation performed for primary school children at Southbank Imagine Festival, 2014
-Jessie's Fund - leading workshops for children with special needs, 2013

Tutoring Approach:

***Skype lessons available during COVID-19 period***

I understand that every pupil learns at a different pace and in different ways, so I aim to tailor each lesson to your individual aims. Whether you're just learning for fun or have a specific goal you want to reach (graded exams / auditions) I hope to push students to achieve their best, while ensuring lessons are as fun and engaging as possible. As well as being able to guide technical progress on the instrument, I like to introduce my students to a broad range of music, developing their musical awareness.
