Personal Description:

Having recently graduated from University in the summer of 2018 with a Second Class (Division One) Honours in Music, I am based in Birmingham, looking to teach musicians ranging from beginner to intermediate level. My musical education began in primary school, where I was introduced to the violin. Since then, I have been playing the violin for a number of years, joining various local orchestras in Birmingham, whilst doing wedding performances from as young as 13. I was enrolled into the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire, where I found myself introduced to the viola and the piano, whilst participating in quartets as a violinist and violist. I studied Music at University, which saw me develop my theory skills to a high standard, and also honing the performative aspects of my musical career.

Tutoring Experience:

I am capable of teaching within a school environment and also privately. I have had the experience of working within a primary and teaching music in a secondary school, granting me the opportunity to learn how to communicate efficiently and effectively with a range of ages. Furthermore, I have helped run concerts and organised performances in my sixth form. During my time at University, I have also privately tutored a number of students on the violin and the piano.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to music tuition is to make sure the student has a firm grasp on the basics of the instrument that they are studying. I aim to make my lessons as entertaining as possible, by using fun methods I have learnt from previous teachers and highlighting the students musical interests which means searching and bringing music to the lessons that they would enjoy playing- whether it be pop, musicals or from films.
