Information About Mark - Gosport teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Mark:
I have spent a lifetime in teaching and learning. I am an expert pianist and multi instrumentalist. I can play from music or by 'ear' and am comfortable with many styles from Rachmaninov to Boogie woogie! I taught piano/guitar and music theory for 8 years before taking up class teaching in a Primary School for 28 years. As a class teacher I taught Year 6 (11 year old) pupils and my school consistently featured in the top 20 of the UKs most successful schools. I had an extremely successful teaching record and have masses of experience taking whole classes, school and multi school led projects. During my career I have had music published and have also had radio and TV exposure as a writer/composer. I have successfully taught pupils to play the piano and have had many exam Grade successes with no failures including 'Distinction' at Grade VIII. I currently am signed to a Publishing/Management company and write and record music for commercial sync projects as well as doing remote sessions work. For enjoyment I play the guitar/accordion and I also study French and Spanish (often through music). I have a small amount of spaces for the right pupils. DBS checked. I am based in Gosport so please be aware that I may NOT be able to travel to you if you are on the other side of Portsmouth Harbour but within the 10 miles radius that I have set. Thank you.
Self employed Piano/guitar/music theory teacher (8 years)
Primary School Class Teacher (28 years)
As a teacher I feel I have contributed to the development of many hundreds of pupils. I am able to 'engage' and even inspire and I have the technique and a huge knowledge base on which to base my pedagogical approach to each individual. I am so experienced and versatile enough to be flexible in this approach and I would say that this means I can turn my hand to nearly any style of playing that is required. 'Classical/Romantic/Baroque/Boogie/Blues/Ballads/ Rock/Pop. I have an extremely eclectic repertoire and particularly embrace the music of France and Spain and other cultures. I am also 'up to speed' with latest music technology and recording software and enjoy some modern music too such as Stromae and Heavy Metal in particular! I prefer now to teach one to one.
