Personal Description:
As a music degree graduate of Bachelor of Music (BMus) First Honours in Commercial Music Performance, I have been giving lessons & mentoring in Piano/Guitar/Music Production/Music Theory/Songwriting/Composition/Grades/Career Strategy/University UCAS Portfolio for 8 years. I offer lessons to all ages, all levels, in French and in English.
Being a Musician/Producer/Songwriter myself, collaborating with established artists and major record labels (Sony Music, Universal Music, Warners Music), the UK government and Universities, I understand the work ethic on how to master your instrument, the complexities of recording, writing, producing a song, the music industry and the university application - UCAS - process.
Tutoring Experience:
I have worked at the Bilingual School in London, "La Petite Ecole Bilingue", for one year (2016-2017) providing students with one to one guitar, piano and vocal lessons from the age of 4 to 9 and ran two classes of 15 students. I also ran the school choir of 30 students helping them perform the school play in front of the whole school.
In addition to my work at the school, I've been giving private guitar, piano, music production - UCAS portofolio - Grades - Music Theory lessons since 2015. I have a satisfied list of students whom I help to first achieve their music grades, UCAS portfolio and then moving forward to discovering and performing music expertly and with confidence.
Tutoring Approach:
To start, I help my students get their grades and from there help them to consider where they want to go next with music, developing their interest in music and giving guidance on how to achieve their specific goals.
My lessons are about developing and exploring musical tastes and understanding that every student has their own taste and opinions. My lessons offer an understanding about the structure of the music they are currently listening to, the music theory, chords, techniques and culture behind it, allowing students to reflect more deeply about what they are listening to.
Most importantly, making it fun and engaging - not just powering through the grades, which is the number one complaint I've heard from previous experiences with music. It's about finding and developing your musical skills at your own pace and in an emotive way that inspires you.
