Personal Description:

I am a happily married mother to 2 grown up children and I am also a grandmother. I am 58 years old and I love all things to do with music and I have a sense of humour which I use in my teaching.
I joined the ISM in 2007 and also EPTA. I am recently registered with Rockschool Classical Teachers.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching the piano for over 36 years privately in Hove and Portslade, and more recently in
East Worthing. No child or teenager has failed any piano exam with me since I started in 1984! I also teach Adults as well including a man who is extremely sight-impaired he has done the Prep Test and the Initial
exams. I have successfully got my pupils through 157 ABRSM exams Prep Test, Initial, Grades 1/2/3/4/5/
6/7 Music Theory Grades 1/2/3/4/5 Jazz Piano Grades 1/2/3 NCM Popular Piano Grades 1/2/3/4/5
NCM Electronic Keyboard Grades B/1/2 Classical Guitar Prep Test, Initial, Grades 1/2 Trinity as well as ABRSM.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to make every pupil feel at ease, and I also ask the pupil what he or she is aiming for in the lessons.
It takes quite a long time to learn how to play the piano properly, and how to read music at the same time.
I also need to know if they are open to the idea of exams or playing in an ISM concert, or if they just want to learn for fun, perhaps with chords in the Left Hand and Melodies in the Right Hand or learning to play by ear.
