Personal Description:
I trained at the Royal College of Music in London and I've been performing and teaching for over 25 years. I have been a full time member of the Northern Ballet Orchestra and since leaving I now freelance with orchestras in London, such as the BBC and London Concert Orchestras and Philharmonia.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching the violin for 25 years and I enjoy teaching all ages and standards. My pupils range from 5 to 65.
I also run an adult string group for all pupils over the age of 20.
I currently teach privately and peripatetically at 3 schools in addition to a busy performing schedule.
In addition to my degree and postgraduate qualifications I have taken the Certificate of Teaching- a fast track advanced teaching course run by the Associated Board.
Tutoring Approach:
I teach classical violin and I range from taking pupils through the ABRSM exam system, adult re-starters, entry to local music festivals and further concert opportunities.
I have a calm patient approach, and I expect my pupils to put in as much as they get out of the lessons.
