Personal Description:

I am currently a second year student at the University of Bristol.

I was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for 5 years, and was its principal bassoon for the final two years, performing in the BBC Proms and recording for Chandos Records. I was a member of the Royal College of Music Junior Department for 11 years, studying bassoon with Sarah Andrew and piano with Danielle Salamon, and was also principal of their Symphony Orchestra for 2 years.

I won both the Angela Bull and Peter Morrison Competitions at the RCM, the latter which led me to perform the Gordon Jacob Bassoon Concerto with the Symphony Orchestra. I was winner of both the junior and senior recital competitions at Wellington College, where I was a music and academic scholar. I also performed at a Macmillan Cancer Support Centenary concert and Bluthner's Chamber music concert in London.

I achieved high distinctions in both my piano and bassoon diplomas, and won top scholarships to study music at both the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a broad range of teaching experience, from pupils preparing for exams to learning music for fun for both piano and bassoon.

As part of the NYO Inspire Programme, I led a variety of musical workshops to students in secondary school. I also led musical groups with organisations for adults and children with learning difficulties and mental health charities.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel it is vital to create a positive teaching environment to both get the best out of a student whilst ensuring lessons are enjoyable and engaging. I am a patient and caring person with a huge love of music that I strive to share with any student. I aim to make my lessons both fun and interesting, whether it be casual learning or preparation for a graded exam or audition.
