Personal Description:
French violinist Luanah is an emerging multidisciplinary musician whose work is distinguished by an immersive, narrative-driven approach to performance. Currently completing her Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music under Jack Liebeck, she has been praised for her “complex atmospheric depth” and her strong affinity for the evocative sound worlds of Prokofiev, Medtner, Chausson, and Ysaÿe. A hallmark of her identity is her ability to take underplayed, and psychologically intricate works and guide them from conception to performance, shaping each project with a distinctive dramaturgical sensibility.
After completing her DEM with distinctions in solo and chamber music at the École Nationale de Musique de Villeurbanne, she moved to the UK to pursue her Bachelor of Music and subsequent Postgraduate Certificate at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, both supported by major scholarships. Her artistic commitment has been recognized through awards including the Help Musicians Postgraduate Awards, the Harrison Frank Foundation Special Scholarship, and the Talent d’Or from the Rotary Club de Lyon.
An active chamber musician across the UK, Luanah has performed at the Cheltenham Festival, Cadenza International Festival, Symphony Hall Birmingham, and the Royal Academy of Music’s Duke’s Hall. She has collaborated with artists such as Pascal Rogé and members of the Heath Quartet, and has taken part in masterclasses with James Ehnes, Eugene Tzikindelean, Pascal Nemirovski, Anthony Marwood, Thomas Riebl, and the Kuss Quartet, among many others.
Her artistic identity is most clearly reflected in her ensemble work. She has founded several projects including the Kaonashi Trio (Rachmaninov 2/Shostakobich2/, and the Chat Noir Ensemble, with whom she performed multiple cycles of Chausson’s Concert Op.21. In 2024 she co-founded the Vagabundo Trio, a Franco-Chinese-Spanish ensemble bringing renewed vitality to the piano trio tradition through imaginative programming and a shared passion for French repertoire. Their recent appearances include St Paul’s Church Birmingham and pre-concert performances at Symphony Hall.
Luanah’s current and upcoming recital projects for 2025–2026 include major works such as Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata, Stravinsky’s Duo Concertant, and the Roussel Sonata No.1, as well as continued explorations of French chamber music. Her long-term ambition for 2026 is to undertake Nikolai Medtner’s monumental Sonata No. 3, a project marking her deepening engagement with narrative-driven, psychologically rich repertoire.
Currently based in London she enjoys a career between performing and teaching in and around London, in orchestras, chamber ensembles and schools.
