Information About Lorentz - Leeds teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Lorentz:
I have an extensive playing experience and a wide knowledge of different playing styles. In June 2014 I was awarded a first class honours degree from Leeds College of Music in Jazz and currently perform in well respected music venues all across Leeds. I hope for the best in all my students and I love to teach. I'm also a personable friendly (recently dbs checked) guitar tutor so you can expect a relaxed atmosphere.
I have a range of teaching experience from teaching young children (from around 6) to university students. and I'm now teaching Ukelele.
The first lesson is free! I'm happy to take calls and emails if you'd like more information! For a bit of an idea see the description below.
I have a wide variety of teaching experience and understand the need for different teaching approaches for different people. My aim as a tutor is to help all my students with progression and consolidation in their musical learning. I believe music should be fun and my aim for any student is to first get them playing something new on the guitar and then if they want to, go into the theory of it and finally if they wish to improvise, we can put the music under the magnifying lens and see what we can discover about it’s inner workings.
I have graduated with a first class honours degree in jazz at Leeds College of Music which has Conservatoire status. Whilst studying, I spent many days practicing my craft and attending lectures from some of the most renowned musicians in the country. Under the tutelage of Jamie Taylor and Jiannis Pavlidis I feel I have developed considerably and am deeply grateful for their generosity and exceptional teaching skills which I hope to embody if I have the pleasure and opportunity to teach you.
I know how it can be difficult to decide on whether or not to learn an instrument. It can seem daunting, especially if you’ve been discouraged by teachers in the past. My teaching philosophy is that if you don’t enjoy it, you don’t learn it. So I make sure I encourage all my students, by acknowledging all of their positive progress and at the same time, by helping them to find a path of learning that can help them play more of what they enjoy (even if sometimes that means learning a bit of that darn music theory!).
