Linda offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
I am a music graduate with a very varied career behind me - I've been a conductor, a singer, a composer and arranger, an accompanist and a school teacher. Mostly nowadays I like teaching the piano in my home and helping people of all ages from 4 to 84 to get enjoyment and understanding from music. I am happy with beginners - in fact adult beginners I particularly enjoy!
My mission statement is very simple: MUSIC IS FOR EVERYBODY
Over 30 years' experience teaching privately.
I have also taught class music in primary and secondary schools for many years
I will try to put the student's needs first, though eventually this will mean learning to read music notation. I am quite happy to tech pupils who practise on an acoustic piano, digital piano or electric keyboard (needs to be touch-sensitive to be effective) as long as they understand that practice is necessary.
Lessons are in a friendly, lived-in environment. A wide choice of approaches is available, to suit the individual pupil, Most lessons are half an hour long and may be paid for individually or on a monthly basis.
I will prepare children and adults for concerts and exams (ABRSM, Trinity and LCM) or just help them learn for leisure - the choice is yours.
