After having tried other instruments for several years, I started playing the cello at the age of 16 and was serious about it by the age of 18. I am now currently doing my undergraduate degree in Cello at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
Because I started in my late teens I clearly remember all the stages of learning I went through and could rationalise problems. I am very passionate about music and cello and I love sharing this with other people, especially in a learning environment.
I was teaching at a boarding school in Yorkshire for 3 years where I taught class music, led ensembles and ran practice supervision sessions for all instruments. On top of this, I organised more extensive cello practice sessions and occasionally covered the cello teacher whenever absent.
Outside of the school I have had pupils mainly over the summer.
From my own experience and that of teaching both in a classroom and 1 on 1 for three years, I can adapt to each pupil's needs. I completely understand that each person requires a different path to learning and I would be pleased to help you find the path that is suitable for you and work towards the goals we set together.
