I am a young professional cellist, having graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2017 with a double first class degree in music, and now studying for a postgraduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I have extensive experience performing as a soloist and chamber musician nationally and internationally, and am passionate and dedicated teacher. I am also a prize-winning pianist and composer, and sang as a choral scholar at Clare College, Cambridge.
Eton College, Peripatetic Cello Teacher September-December 2017
Cumnor House School, Deputy Peripatetic Cello teacher January 2018-present
The Pilgrims' School, GAP Music Assistant Sept 2013 - July 2014
Private pupils ranging in ability from complete beginner to dipABRSM.
Eton Choral Courses, Music Assistant (piano accompaniment and consort coaching)
Very much dependant on, and tailored to the individual. For beginner children, learning to love music and love the sensation of playing the cello is the number one priority. I have a well-developed and methodical approach to technique, which I generally include incrementally - although again, this is flexible according to the needs of the pupil. My mother is an Alexander Technique teacher, and I use the principles of AT in my technical approach.
