Information About Leena - Welwyn Garden City teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Leena:
I am an experienced flute player with a Performer’s Certificate and a First Class degree in music from the University of Southampton. During the degree course I worked towards both solo and ensemble recitals in addition to studying music theory and history. Currently I am working on LRSM repertoire with a view to undertaking the examination. Last year I graduated with a collaborative doctoral award in music from the University of Southampton and The National Trust, and I researched the music collections of two landed gentry families in late eighteenth-century England.
I am passionate and enthusiastic about flute playing and will offer a supportive environment to learners of the instrument.
I am new to teaching the flute, but with my experience in performance and my in-depth understanding of the mechanisms of flute playing, I will be able to pass this on to students in an engaging and stimulating way. I am also new to music theory tuition, but have studied the subject at university level.
I will tailor lessons to the abilities and goals of each individual pupil. And with flute teaching I will cover areas of tone, ear training, technique and sight-reading in addition to playing flute pieces. I will bring a relaxed and fun approach to music-making, but I expect students to practice after each lesson in preparation for the next.
