Personal Description:

Hi!
My name is Kris and I'm a Belgian professional flutist who moved to Glasgow a couple of months ago.
I graduated from my masters of music in Maastricht in 2016 (the Netherlands) and I also graduated from my Music teaching degree in Antwerp conservatory in 2018. (Belgium)
I love playing music over the whole world. Because of flute playing I've been able to visit many countries. (Russia, Morocco, Croatia, Germany, France, Portugal, Netherlands… )
I played in the Netherlands Youth Orchestra and at the moment I am a member of the Nevis Ensemble in Scotland.

Tutoring Experience:

I started teaching the flute since 2016 and I love doing it!
I also gave some piano, recorder and music theory lessons to beginners for a couple of years.

In the year I did my teaching degree I worked with tons of different classes, big groups, small groups, children, adults… There are always things to learn, age doesn't matter I believe!

I am fully registered with the GTCS and I'm part of the PVG Scheme.

Tutoring Approach:

My 5 big words:

Motivation --> I believe a motivational and positive atmosphere is the way to make learning fun and gives you the drive to become your best self.
Challenge --> Challenging yourself is important to keep things interesting. Making new goals and going the full 100% for them.
Confidence --> Music is a very personal thing, becoming the confident player you want to be is what I'll try to help you with.
Healthy --> Not only the music is important, your mental and physical health as well.
Experience --> Another fun part of being a musician is sharing or playing music with ohter people.
