Personal Description:

My name is Juliette and I’m an enthusiastic performer and educator, BBC young musician of the year string finalist and award winner. I have taught privately and at the highly esteemed IB school Dartford Grammar School since 2018, as well as giving masterclasses worldwide. I grew up in a family of musicians, and have constantly been surrounded by music. After having studied at the junior Royal College of Music weekend programme at the age of 13 I went to study at the highly esteemed specialist music school the Yehudi Menuhin School. My musical education has taken me from Switzerland to Germany and I undertook my Masters degree in performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating with a higher distinction in 2018. I have performed in halls such as Barbican centre, Odessa opera house and won international prizes. Through my studies, I decided to develop my viola skills and have since played in several festivals and top concert halls as a violist.

Tutoring Experience:

Having taught privately since 2014, I have a lot of experience with different generations and different aspirations to their music learning. I recently taught for several years at the highly esteemed Dartford Grammar School as well as giving masterclasses around the world. Having taught in a Grammar School, I have experience in helping train people for theory and aural ABRSM exams, as well as the performing aspect of the GCSE music course.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is personal and encouraging. I believe it’s very important to tailor the educating to the particular aims of the student and regarding how they learn most effectively by what thrills and exhilarates them. In my opinion, teaching someone how to play an instrument stretches so far beyond the instrument- it’s a wonderful way to train the brain on the connections between the physical, mental discipline and emotional. It gives one a toolbox that helps all walks of life. With a structured set of material, I hope to develop not only the love for the instrument, but the love for music making as a whole.
