Personal Description:

I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher and want only the best for each student - that is why everyone is treated as an individual.
As a professionally qualified teacher I always try to maintain good self development - by attending courses, conferences as well as continued self research.
I have a full Enhanced DBS Certificate.
I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and have been a member of the British Voice Association - a multi disciplinary body which deals with all aspects of the voice singing, acting, and speaking as well as maintaining good vocal health.

Over the 25 years of teaching I am happy to say I have a 100% success rate in examinations. (Taking examinations is not compulsory)

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught music for over 25 years privately and in schools, colleges universities etc.In this time I have also worked as a singer, musical director and accompanist throughout the UK. Other posts include: Head of Music, Lecturer of Singing & Musical Theatre, Lecturer on a Lifelong Learning Programme in Leicester as well as lecturing on a foundation degree course in Performing Arts.
I have worked on numerous productions both professional and amateur with young children, operatic groups / drama groups and also assisted with young children's choirs for major professional musical productions.
A number of students have gone onto train full time at some of the UK's leading colleges including: Guildford Conservatoire, Laines Theatre Arts, Liverpool Theatre School to name a few.

Tutoring Approach:

I treat every student as an individual. After an initial conversation on what the students requires we move forward to reach their goal / personal achievements.Regular reviews are carried out to make sure we are moving in the right direction.
You may want to learn for a hobby / self enjoyment. Or you may wish to work through examinations or work towards entry into college / university courses in performing arts .etc.all will be taught with enthusiasm.
Sessions can be 30 minutes , 45 minutes or 1 hour. In the case of audition rehearsal etc this can be extended to 90 minutes.
I am a pianist so can record students exercises and accompaniments for rehearsal out of the session.
